The True Story of Bernie and Ernie:

Every year at sunset on the eve of the summer solstice, if a fire is set in a Glenwood Cherub Parlour Stove, a couple of the stove's cherubs come to life, and prance through the countryside for twenty-four hours, drinking wine, and frolicking about.

One particular year, in a ‘Brigadoon’ kind of fantasy, two of the cherubs, named Bernie and Ernie, tricked the magical fairies who granted them life for the day. They got those fairies so drunk on wine, that the fairies turned the two little cherubs into men. Men with cherub-like qualities that is. Bernie and Ernie were so tickled to be humans, that they giggled and frolicked, and drank wine into the wee hours of the night.

The next day, Bernie and Ernie hightailed it away from the land of the fairies, and went further, and further, away from the Glenwood Cherub Parlour Stove in Goshen. The fairies searched high and low for Bernie and Ernie, but never found them. Because of Bernie and Ernie's rebellion, the fairies now no longer let the little parlour stove cherubs come to life.

To this day, the fairies still search for Bernie and Ernie, to return them to their rightful place on the parlour stove in their old home. But Bernie and Ernie have thus been able to remain at large.

They are believed to reside in the heart of Central England, where they write stories about the old days, with an ever watchful eye for the fairies who still seek them here there, and everywhere.

Seriously folks, here's the real story, but first:

Welcome to this Web Site, maintained by ‘The Dynamic Duo in Derbyshire’

We really are Bernard and Ernest, and we are located in the beautiful County of Derbyshire, in the heart if the United Kingdom.

To our friends we are known as Bernie and Ernie, and we enjoy surfing the Internet, and making new friends. We have a total of ten Web Sites, all of similar interest, which you may like to visit, they are listed in detail below.

Our Interests include the cinema, films and their stars, together with local stories, and poetry. Some of these subjects are contributed by people who contact us as a result of viewing one of our sites.

Bernie, who is now enjoying retirement, was in the entertainment business for some thirty five years, and still performs , as a singer , at various functions throughout the Midlands. In 1983, he had a part in the remake of Michael Winner’s film ‘THE WICKED LADY’, part of which was shot on White Edge Moor, in Derbyshire, not far from where he lives. He has also been seen in episodes of ‘THE FREDDIE STARR SHOW’, ‘BOB’S FULL HOUSE’, and several other television programmes.

Ernest is an Octogenarian, who enjoys THE HOLLYWOOD MUSICAL, and the old stars of yesteryear, such as Betty Grable, Alice Faye, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and many others. He collects films on videocassette, and the new wonder of DVD, and has a large collection of books, containing information, and biographies, on his beloved idols.

There are also certain other items to be found on our Web Sites, which are not found elsewhere on the Internet, and a section on LOCAL CINEMAS, and THEATRES. We have tried to make our sites as interesting as possible , with all sorts of subjects, and don’t forget, we welcome feedback, and like to receive your comments and suggestions.

Each Web Site has a contact page, which in turn has links to separate link pages, and these also have stories and tributes, to other people. We have tried to give you an insight about our Web Sites, the next step is for you to view them, and hopefully, send us your feedback.

THANK YOU for selecting our Web Sites, and HAPPY BROWSING.........
